Nestled at 839 W Huron St, this classic diner-style eatery has been serving locals and visitors alike for years, offering a cozy atmosphere with an authentic taste of Michigan comfort food. Whether you're a regular or a first-time guest, Pete's Coney Island promises a welcoming experience and a menu brimming with flavorful options.

When you walk into Pete's Coney Island, you're greeted with that warm, inviting vibe that many diners seem to lose in today’s fast-paced world. It's the kind of place where the staff knows many of the regulars by name, and there’s always a friendly face to make you feel right at home. One of the standout features of Pete's is its emphasis on local ingredients and recipes passed down through generations. You can taste the care and attention in every dish, from their signature coney dogs to the homemade chili.

For breakfast lovers, Pete's Coney Island offers a variety of dishes that have become favorites among patrons. If you’re in the mood for a big breakfast, try their classic eggs, bacon, and hash browns combo. It’s simple, but it’s done right-crispy bacon, golden hash browns, and eggs cooked just the way you like them. But don’t just take our word for it; regulars swear by their pancakes, which are light and fluffy with the perfect touch of sweetness.

Lunchtime at Pete's is no less satisfying, with a diverse menu that ensures everyone finds something to enjoy. From their savory sandwiches to filling burgers, there's a little something for every palate. Their coney dogs are, of course, a highlight-served with that signature Michigan chili and topped with onions and mustard, they’re a crowd favorite. You can pair them with a side of crispy fries or a fresh salad, depending on what you're craving.

What really sets Pete's Coney Island apart from other diners, though, is their commitment to making everything from scratch. Take, for example, their famous homemade chili, which is served alongside a range of dishes or as the star of the meal itself. The chili is hearty, flavorful, and packed with just the right amount of spice. Many customers swear it’s the best they’ve had, and it's easy to see why-it’s the perfect comfort food that leaves you feeling satisfied without weighing you down.

Pete's also offers a selection of refreshing beverages, including milkshakes that are rich, creamy, and made with real ice cream. A shake here is a must-try, whether you’re opting for the classic chocolate or vanilla, or something a bit more adventurous like strawberry or banana. For those who prefer a lighter drink, they have a selection of sodas, iced teas, and coffee to complement your meal.

The restaurant's location in Pontiac makes it an ideal stop for both locals and travelers. Being situated on W Huron St means that Pete’s is easily accessible for anyone in the area, whether you're driving through town or looking for a casual, comforting meal after a day of exploring. The cozy, unpretentious atmosphere ensures that it's a place you can relax in, whether you're grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a long, leisurely meal with friends and family.

Food is great and prices are reasonable. Fast and friendly service. Couldn't give five stars though because they no longer have dine-in. It is to-go only. What a disappointment.

This place has been here ever since I was a kid and it is a Pontiac Michigan Institution. Even through a pandemic, they are still operating and serving nothing but the best food to quench your lunch appetite. Try their navy bean and ham soup and also their gumbo soup. But you can't go wrong with a good old-fashioned Coney Dog with everything on it. In crazy times like we're having these last couple years, don't forget to support your restaurants and your service Industries. Without them America would be in a sad state of affairs.

It's a carryout coney now, but Pete's is still sooooo worth it! The flavor is so great, always consistent, and you can't go wrong on the price. We will make it a stop every year when we're in town. Keep it up, Mike n team. You're doing AWESOME!

I got two chili cheese burgers and coke and a bag of chips I really enjoyed the food it took me back to my childhood. I found out that they are still under the same ownership family and will be celebrating 100 years.

Small building that is currently take out only. Staff is very quick and friendly. Food was delicious, one of the better Coney dogs in the area. It's definitely a must stop if you're looking for a quick delicious bite to eat.
